Refund Policy

Effective 2026-10-01 Version 2026-10-03.1 7 min read

The short version: we don't refund a period you've already paid for, unless something on our side went wrong (Section 2). You can cancel at any time, and nothing more is charged after that.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

1. Why there are no change-of-mind refunds

Your plan starts the moment your payment goes through, and you can use everything in it straight away. So once you've paid, we don't refund it because you changed your mind or used it less than you expected, however much you used it. This applies to monthly and annual plans and renewals — including the first full monthly charge after an introductory price or a free trial, and any renewal you forgot to cancel.

If you're in the EU or UK: you'd normally have 14 days to withdraw from a digital purchase. You give up that right when you buy, because the plan starts at your request. Where the law still lets you cancel a service that has already started, you may be asked to pay for the part of the period you used. At checkout you tick a box that says so. It's never pre-ticked, we don't open the payment window until you've ticked it, and we keep a record of the sentence you agreed to, the date and the policy version.

Wherever you are, if the law of your country gives you a right to cancel or a refund, that right applies and nothing in this policy takes it away.

Paddle's buyer terms. Paddle, as the seller, may also review a refund request under its own buyer terms. To ask Paddle directly, go to paddle.net and look up your order with the email you paid with.

2. When we do refund

These cases are about us getting something wrong, and they apply whenever it happens, whatever you ticked at checkout:

SituationResolution
You were charged twice for the same periodFull refund of the duplicate charge
A price increase was applied to your renewal without the required 30-day noticeRefund of the difference
We discontinue a feature or tier you specifically purchasedPro-rata refund of the unused prepaid period
Technical failure prevented you from accessing the service for an extended period (more than 48 consecutive hours) due to our errorPro-rata credit or refund of the affected period
Fraudulent charge you did not authoriseFull refund; contact both us and Paddle immediately
The service, or a feature of your plan, does not work as we described itRepair, or a refund of the affected period, as the law of your country requires
A paid roll analysis failed on our sideThe analysis is returned to your allowance automatically — nothing is deducted, so there is nothing to refund to your card

Statutory conformity rights — including the EU Digital Content Directive (EU) 2019/770 and the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 — apply to this service and are not affected by anything in this policy or by anything you agree to at checkout. If the service is faulty, you have those rights whatever box you ticked.

To ask for one of these refunds:

  1. Email support@opbjj.com from your account email with the subject "Refund".
  2. Tell us which purchase and what went wrong. The order number on your Paddle receipt helps but isn't required.
  3. We reply within 3 business days. If a refund is due, Paddle returns the money to the card or account you paid with, usually within 5–10 business days.

3. How to cancel

  1. Sign in and open Settings → Billing.
  2. Tap Cancel my plan.
  3. Confirm. The cancellation takes effect straight away, and the screen shows the date your access ends.

You keep everything until that date and won't be charged again. You can resume before then with no gap. You can also cancel from Paddle's customer portal at paddle.net. If you bought in the iOS app, cancel in your device's App Store subscription settings instead. Apple handles refunds for those purchases.

Academy owners: cancel at paddle.net, or email support@opbjj.com and we'll cancel it for you.

4. Introductory offers

On our website, Overpowered starts at $0.99 for 3 days. That $0.99 is a real charge, taken today by Paddle. Unless you cancel before the 3 days end, Overpowered renews automatically at $34.99 per month, charged to the same payment method, and every month after that until you cancel. The date of the first full charge is shown at checkout and in Settings → Billing, and we remind you by email before it.

In the iOS app, Overpowered starts with an Apple free trial of 3 days. You pay nothing for the trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, Apple charges the monthly price shown in the app, then every month until you cancel. We remind you by email before it ends, and in the app if you allow notifications.

What the 3 days include, on both. Overpowered with these limits: up to 2 AI roll analyses (clips up to 3 minutes), 10 coach messages in total (follow-up questions on an analysis count) and 3 voice notes. The weekly read, session reads, competition tools, Then vs Now and the game plan unlock with your first full monthly payment, and so does the full Overpowered allowance. If you reach a limit, you can keep using everything else, or start the full plan early.

One introductory offer per person. On our website we check your account and your payment method, and the introductory price isn't available if you have already had an introductory price or a free trial, on our website or in the app. In the iOS app, Apple checks your Apple Account and decides whether you get the free trial.

To avoid the first full charge, cancel before the 3 days end: on our website, Settings → Billing → Cancel my plan, or paddle.net; in the iOS app, your device's App Store subscription settings, at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You keep the introductory period until it ends, then your account moves to the free plan. Anything you created during it stays in your history.

Refunds of the $0.99. It's a purchase like any other: Overpowered starts at your request, so there is no change-of-mind refund of it (Section 1). If you're in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, your statutory rights in Section 1 still apply, and the Section 2 exceptions apply in full. If you're in Brazil, you can withdraw within 7 days of starting and get the $0.99 back in full (Código de Defesa do Consumidor, art. 49): email support@opbjj.com or ask Paddle at paddle.net.

Refunds of the first full charge. If you don't cancel in time, the first full monthly charge is a purchase like any other: there is no change-of-mind refund of it (Section 1), the Section 2 exceptions apply, and your statutory rights in Section 1 still apply. For purchases in the iOS app, Apple handles refunds.

Plan changes during the introductory period. If you switch to another paid plan, the introductory period ends and the new plan is charged at its standard price from that moment.

Where we compare a price with another price, we say what it's compared with, and that price is one we actually charge.

5. AI allowances and AI credits

Unused allowances and unused monthly credits are not refundable: they are part of the subscription price for the period, not a separate purchase. A Credit Pack ($29, $49 or $99) is a one-time purchase. It isn't refunded for a change of mind, but the Section 2 cases apply to it too. Pack credits expire 12 months after purchase and have no cash value.

If a pack is refunded or charged back, the credits from that pack that haven't been used yet are removed. Credits from it that were already used stay used, and we don't charge for them again; a refund for a partly used pack is in proportion to the credits left in it. If we end an Academy plan for a reason other than your breach, we also refund the credits left in each Credit Pack, in proportion to its price. An academy's balance never goes below zero.

6. How refunds are processed

All refunds are processed by Paddle. The refund amount is returned to the original payment method used at purchase. We cannot issue refunds to a different card, account, or payment method.

Typical timelines:

  • Card refunds: 5–10 business days
  • PayPal: 3–5 business days
  • Local payment methods: varies by method; Paddle will advise

Currency: refunds are issued in the currency of the original transaction.
